ACLS

The ACLS course emphasizes the importance of basic life support CPR to patient survival, the integration of effective basic life support with ACLS interventions, and the importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation.  The course includes simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation through learning stations where students practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader.  Course content includes AED, airway management, cardioversion, CPR, defibrillation, IV/IO access, medications, transcutaneous pacing.  Participants will learn the core ACLS cases including prearrest emergencies (bradycardia, stable/unstable tachycardia, and acute coronary syndromes), cardiac arrest (simple/complex VF/VT, PEA, and asystole), respiratory emergency, and stroke.

Course Audience: Healthcare Professionals Providing Emergent Direct or Supportive Patient Care.
Course Preparation: Current BLS-HCP Course Completion Card, Review ACLS Provider Manual and CD
Course Completion: 2-Year Course Completion Card and 12.0 (Initial) / 4.0 - 8.0 (Renewal) Contact Hours

ACLS Experienced Provider

The case-based and group-interactive ACLS Experienced Provider course expands on the core ACLS course utilizing the 5 quadrads approach.  Designed for the seasoned clinician, participants will gain a deeper knowledge for understanding and treating ACS patients, focus on special resuscitation emergencies (e.g. drowning), metabolic emergencies, and toxicology emergencies.  This course may be taking in place of the standard ACLS Renewal Course.

Course Audience: Healthcare Professionals Providing Emergent Direct or Supportive Patient Care.
Course Preparation: Current ACLS & BLS-HCP Course Completion Cards, Review ACLS Resource Manual
